I keep running into the same question with myself after every race season - "Ok, what's next?" Sometimes, like this past year, I'll do shorter races such as a half Iron Man. Other times, I want to challenge myself and go bigger. What else can I push myself to do? When the 'double' became a possibility, and for the first time ever, I realised this was it. Never in the ultra triathlon world has there been the opportunity to compete in back to back events on consecutive weekends. To be the first athlete to ever do it would be pretty cool!

ATHLETES IN MOTION
"relentless forward progress!"
who WE ARE

My name is Mark Naphin, and I'm what you’d call an ‘average joe’, challenging myself to do un-average things. After decades of experience in both the marathon and triathlon worlds, I have completed some spectacular events, none of which were done without help. There has always been a coach in the background, pushing me to be a better athlete. Because of that, I’d like to give back to the community that has so greatly inspired me all these years by entering the coaching world myself. I hope to inspire other fellow athletes along their journey.
how does it work?

Our first step is to build a custom training program to fit you and your needs. This program will cater to your athletic goals while balancing your other priorities such as work and family. We will also use past experiences and finish results to guide us to help you complete your future race goals. Training Peaks will be used as our platform to plan your training program, which allows us a two way communication and a way to track your progress. If I can be a husband, a dad, a head chef, a son, and a brother and still find time to train, so can you!
WHAT TO EXPECT

COMMUNICATION
I ensure regular and frequent contact with my athletes to ensure a solid knowledge base and to keep up on current workouts or any issues. FaceTime, training peaks, emails and texts are all welcome.
EXPERT KNOWLEDGE
Through years of both triathlon and ultra running, I have an extremely vast knowledge base. I am constantly learning how to improve my own mind to bring more to my athletes. I use this knowledge to create specific one on one programs for each individual athlete.
IMPLEMENTATION
I aim to improve both your physical and mental fitness through the world of triathlon. Whether you're young, old, an age group qualifier for Kona, a middle of the packer, or someone bringing up the rear, I want to provide a happy and safe place for everyone who wants to join our community.

POWER
“Mark can take what may seem like an impossible goal, break it down, and make it fully attainable. Yes, you have to put in the work, but he will be there to support you every step of the way. Mark gets it. He's done the hard sh*t, knows how to get you to the start line, and will give you all the tools you need for you to get yourself across that finish line. He's an unmatchable coach. I wouldn't want to be led by anyone else.”

HEATHER
MYERS
A Canmore, Alberta athlete, Heather Myers has been working relentlessly towards her goal to complete the Ultraman Canada Race in 2023. This year, not only did she complete her goal she completely crushed it, and was the Ultraman Canada Female Champion! She smashed her goal with an overall finish time of 31:28:06. That's a 10km swim, 420km on the bike, and 84.4km run. I could not be a prouder coach. Hell yes to you Heather!

"I’ve known Mark since Ultraman Canada 2014. He has always been a great resource for me when I’m struggling in my training. He offers tips, honest feedback, and is always there to offer a pat on the back for a solid effort. I encourage any athlete who is interested in growing stronger over long distance to reach out to him for coaching. Mark is incredibly knowledgeable, experienced, committed, but most importantly, he never loses sight of the fact that we choose to do this, and it should be fun."
